basic question here: I threaded a loom to weave a rug and my warp is showing - what did I do wrong? I only want a weft face. I used 3 ply natural 100% worsted wool warp (doubled) and 3 ply rug wool yarn (doubled ) set at 4 epi and I have beaten hard - yet it's still about 50-50 look of warp and weft.

I was looking for a group interested in tapestry handweaving and what have we here. Sounds to me like your warp may be too chunky to disappear into the weft. Have you used so-designated "rug warp"? Cheaper would be a strong (e.g. unbreakable with your full strength) crochet cotton. Do be generous with the weft, as well. "Bubble" it: this is not my blog but Tues Apr 27 has a decent picture. http://wefttomyowndevices.blogspot.com/
